Portrait Commissions
Portrait commissions are my first love, my introduction to professional art. I have been drawing commissioned portraits that seek to capture the essence of a person for over a decade.
If you are interested in commissioning a charcoal & graphite portrait follow these steps:
Select a photo (preferably several) of the subject. The better the photo the more detailed the portrait (although I can work with almost anything). Alternatively, if you are local, arrange for me to come take some photographs in person, using lighting/contrast that will render well on paper.
Think about the dimensions you would like for the piece (size & shape). If you don’t know I am happy to offer suggestions. Feel free to share your vision here, do you want added colour, any specific objects included or omitted? etc.
Contact me for a rough price-list and we can locate where your piece would fall. I ask for a small deposit in advance to cover materials.
I will get started! Keep in mind a single subject drawing takes 3-6 weeks to complete. If this is for a specific occasion let me know when you hope to have it by. Keep in mind shipping times.
When the drawing is complete, I will send you a photograph to make sure you are happy with it. If so, I will ship the piece via priority mail upon receipt of the payment.
